As you might or might know, Honduras had a election this past
26th of November. Rife with allegations of fraud by the incumbent president and his party. You might wonder why a 5th rate nation like Honduras should be important to the United States. I stress that the following are just my personal opinion that living here has made me aware of.
When Donald Trump was elected I thought that might be a good president for all of Latin America. His
promise to help end Government Corruption here. But unfortunately the promise has been forgotten.
By virtual of the State Department they have recognized the incumbent president and has set a precedent, corruption is tolerated.
Now you may ask, what does this has to do with the USA? Well, more illegals that's what. The only way that these poor countries of Latin America will stop fleeing their countries is for opportunities for a better life. But if all these people see is corrupt politicians fleecing there nations there only chance is to leave.
Trump had a opportunity to send a signal to corrupt regimes that the United States would no longer support fraud and corrupt officials
That dream is over for the majority of Hondurans.
So in the upcoming years you see more Hondurans, take pity on them and tell your elected Representatives to help end the corrupt regimes in these nations so the people here don't have to leave their families behind
Sorry for my rant and Merry Christmas
